Taylor Searle, a senior at American Leadership Academy (Queen Creek), cleared a meet-record 17-2 (5.23m) on his first attempt in the boys elite pole vault competition at the 84th NIKE Chandler Rotary Invitational at Austin Field in Chandler, Ariz. Searle, who moved to Arizona after competing at Hamilton High in Montana, eclipsed the meet all-time mark of 17-1 (5.20m) shared by Garrett Brown from La Costa Canyon High in California as well as Max Manson of Monarch High in Colorado. Searle also elevated to the No. 4 male competitor in Arizona prep history.
