Canyon del Oro senior Turner Washington set the Arizona state record in the discus with a fifth-round throw of 215-8, in addition to placing second in the shot put at 64-6 at the 77th NIKE Chandler Rotary Invitational at Austin Field. Washington broke the 1987 record of 212-11 set by Tempe High's Dwight Johnson.
