Jared Laverty, a senior at El Paso Americas High in Texas, finished second in the boys invitational 800 meters in a program-record 1:52.24 at the 82nd Nike Chandler Rotary Invitational at Austin Field at Chandler High. Laberty, an Incarnate Word signee, also secured sixth place in the Sally Meyerhoff invitational boys mile in 4:19.00.
